Introduction In biology, human population growth is defined as the increase of the number of individuals per a population. Human population growth can be affected by several different factors such as life expectancy and fertility rates. Life expectancy and fertility rates are the driving forces behind the growth of human population. Life expectancy refers to the average period in which an individual is expected to live. Fertility refers to the number of children a woman will bear within her lifetime. A factor that greatly affected the human population growth in China was the one child policy. The one child policy was implemented during the 1970s in an attempt to gain to control over China’s rapidly growing population. Toda y, China stands as the most populated country containing 1,386,814,594 individuals, making China 18.47 percent of the world’s total population according to the United Nations most recent estimations (3). Although, China seems to have their population under control now, during the 1960s and 1970s China was faced with the issues that arise from overpopulation. In 1979 China housed 25 percent of the world’s population (4). Two thirds of China’s population was under the age of thirty at that time and the baby boomers of the 1950s and 1960s were venturing into the procreative phase of their lives (4). Due to the rapid population growth rate that the baby boomers were causing with their own babies made Chinese government take notice. The Chinese government saw it essential to attempt to contain the rapid growing population. The Chinese government responded to this overpopulation problem by implementing the one child policy. If you are pessimistic, the glass is half empty. If you are optimistic, the glass is half full. But here’s another point of view. An individual’s need also plays a factor in that answer. For instance, imagine being an athlete. You finish a rigorous workout and need water. Someone offers you half a glass and you know that’s not enough. The glass is half empty. Last Thursday, September 16 of the current year, we the student of the Dalubhasaan ng Lunsod ng San Pablo(DLSP) had our Educational Trip to Subic, Olongapo. Aside from the Ocean Adventure at Subic, Olongapo, we also went to Nayong Pilipino at Clack, Pampanga and in Barasoain Church and Museum at Malolos Bulacan. The aim of this educational trip is to broaden the knowledge of students in the different fields of learning. Here is a brief discussion of what the trip was all about. Below is a brief discussion about the said trip: Buses were hired from Solomon Travel and Tours for the means of transportation. Collection of wavers, signing of attendance and planning of seats were done before the driver run the bus. We departed at 4:00 A. M. A few hours later, were already at Barasoain Church and Museum. We were able to tour and take picture around. We enjoyed and had fun. Field Observation: Built in 1630, during the Spanish era, Barasoain church played a major part in the Philippine political history. It is one of the Philippines pride. Other photos taken inside the church: A short film about the history of our country was watched. Convening of the First Philippine congress, Drafting of the Malolos Constitution and he Inauguration of the First Philippine Republic are some examples. After watching, the tour was resumed. I see the happiness of everyone with their smile. Trivia: The term Barasoain was derived from the Filipino word baras ng suwail which means dungeon of the defiant. This church was featured at the back of the old ten peso bill. After this tour at Barasoain Church and Museum, we traveled going to Nayong Pilipino for two hours. We were reminded about the things that need respect and a brief background before the tour. Nayong Pilippino is a cultural time machine for the Philippines were we can find a unique Filipino village and a representation of a miniature version of the diverse Philippine and its culture all in one place. We were toured in the Spanish-Inspired Colonial Plaza area. This is the central part of Nayong Pilipino where we can find the realistic old Spanish styled, colonial plaza. Complete with cobble stone path ways and other authentic replicas of historical Philippine structures such as the Barasoain Church. Along the trip, we saw different kinds of houses made by the Aetas, Ifugaos and Kalinga. Si Malakas at Si Maganda is an old Filipino folktale about the origin of human eing. It portrays the native peoples legend of how man and woman came into existence. One of the most attractive things is the lagoon. You can use it to see the beauty of the place. The last place we visited was the houses of Apolinario Mabini, Dr. Jose Rizal and Emilio Aguinaldo. We were able to saw replicates of things they used during the Spanish Era. Aside from us, there are other schools who visited Nayong Pilipino. The only difference is that they had their lunch break their. After our tour to Nayong Pilipino, we get back inside the bus going to our last destination. Games and singing were done to kill the boredom. On our way to Subic, paths were curved, the bus gone up and down. We had fun because the experience was the same when you ride a roller coaster. For only a few hours, were already at Ocean Adventure in Subic. Tickets were given and stamping and checking of bags was done. Ocean Adventure is South East Asias only open water marine park where marine animals live and play in natural setting complete with various marine life, coral reefs and of course white sand beach. We got hungry, so we eat at Camayan Wharf. We loved the delirious foods served. We took pictures on the shore of the lovely beach in Subic. Then the tour started. We went to the Ocean Discovery Aquarium where we saw different marine species in their habitat. We learned that we have to protect and respect our marine resources. They were now endangered, threatened that they will never be witnessed by the next generation. We watched Rap, Jump and Roll Show. This is a variety show hosted by Olongapo Jones, Mascots and Trampoline performers who gave electrifying moves. We were entertained with what we watched. We then watched an animal show right after the first show, the Walk to the Wild Side Show. It featured trained animals which showed different tricks. Also we learned from them how to start a fire from a piece of bamboo. After the Walk to the Wild Side Show, we watched the main attraction of the resort, The Dolphin I was amazed by the animal grace and intelligence. There are a lot of action and trick made. I saw smiles on the face of the viewers. We heard conservation messages and important information as well. Last was the Sea Lion Marine Patrol Show which featured American Sea Lions. It also performed action, tricks and different funny movements. Is practices 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The Sea Lion was very trained in saving mother earth. We had fun! We continued the trip going to our last destination, Freeport Exchange Subic. We had shopping. After that, we decided to go home. We were all tired and almost all of us fell asleep on our way home. Conclusion: The trip was really educational. I learned more about the history of the Philippines. I learned that we should give extra care to everything we have today in our environment, plants especially animals. We have to respect them as well. I really had fun. Bonding were tightened. How I wish another chance were given to us. I love this trip.

Many USA workers would lose their jobs because factories would be moved to the country with whom the U.S. has a Free Trade Agreement, and where working force is much cheaper. 2. Importing foreign goods and services without tariff into the United States makes it harder for domestic industries to compete with lower prices and better quality of foreign competition. 3. Some politicians feel that it is not the right decision to have open trade with countries where the workforce is forced to work and where prisoners are used as workers. Because of these reasons, politicians who oppose Free Trade, feel that the U.S. should have some kind of restrictions, such as protective tariffs, import quotas, non tariff barriers, and/or export subsidies. However, some politicians and economists feel differently. They say that if some country would raise its barriers in order to reduce imports and stimulate production, the country whose exports suffer may raise its barriers, too. This would cause a trade war. The trade war would effect every nation in lower output, income, and employment; example is the Smooth-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930. Eliminating Physician Oversight for APRNs in Texas The recent passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the effort to provide healthcare for every American is expected to create a large influx of citizens seeking primary care providers. The current demand for primary care services has already burdened most states with a projection of more than 16 million individuals gaining health coverage by 2016, with a projection in Texas of more than 4.2 million (Schiff, 2012). Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) possess the training, experience and expertise in providing primary care services and can be part of the solution in solving shortages, but face unnecessary restrictions in Texas. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) are nurses possessing masters, post-masters or doctoral level education. An APRN holds national certification and in Texas is licensed by the state Board of Nursing (BON) (CNAP, 2013). A wealth of evidence suggests that APRNs have the skills and expertise to perform many of the primary care services that physicians perform with an equal or higher patient satisfaction rate (Humphries, 2007). The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has criticized states laws that prevented APRNs from practicing to the full extent of their training (2011). Therefore, removing these restrictions, will permit APRNs in Texas is a practical solution to help meet this shortage. In addition, APRNs will also enhance health delivery efficiency and provide economic benefit as well for Texas by creating nearly 100,000 permanent jobs for the state of Texas (Perryman, 2013). Action needs to be taken to remove restrictions that are preventing or delaying APRNs from caring for Texans. As the population of Texas grows, this problem will only be compounded to a system that is already inadequate and overloaded. The laws and regulations concerning APRNs scope of practice varies by state, with 16 states permitting full practice authority, without physician oversight. This permits APRNs to practice to the full extent of their training. The remaining states (34) require some degree of physician oversight and involvement. States with only minimal restrictions have not reported any increased threat to patient safety (Texas Public Policy Foundation, 2013). Texas is one of the remaining states with a high level of oversight. Recent research indicates that APNs who live in states that allow full practice authority give more care (IOM, 2011). By removing these unnecessary restrictions, more NPs will be able to meet the healthcare needs of Texans. Texas Public Policy Foundation (2013) reports that of Texas’s 254 counties, only 23 have an adequate number of healthcare professionals to serve their populations. In addition almost 90% of rural Texas counties are considered partially or completely underserved. As the provisions of our national healthcare law go into effect we can expect this to worsen with an anticipated shortage of 44,000 to 46,000 primary care providers nationally by 2025. Studies also indicate that patients report a similar if not better experience when they receive primary care from APRNs vs. physicians, and often at a lower cost (Brown Grimes, 1992). In a research study of Medicaid patients, the cost- effectiveness of utilizing APRNs was evident as patients re ceived the same high quality of care as physicians, while providing a discount of 8% from physician rates (Perryman, 2013). Failure to make the necessary changes to our healthcare delivery system in Texas will result in a worsening of the primary care shortage compounded by the provisions of the affordable healthcare law and the influx of newly insured individuals (Schiff, 2012). In addition to restrictions this places on accessibility to primary care services, there is a potential for a rise in the already inflated healthcare costs for services (Perryman, 2013). Furthermore, it let the students to have an actual observation on how the different technological industries operate. Topics Learned As we visited different industries, somehow we learned from them. Like in TOEI Animation and Cutting Edge Productions, they taught us step by step processes on how to make an animation from lay outing to finishing .Although, there’s no multimedia subject in our curriculum but atleast they gave us an idea on how it works. In addition in UP-Diliman, we also benefited in the seminar in Android Apps, using Ubuntu an open source operating system and their students guided us to their different IT laboratories. I’ve realized that in order to succeed you need to strive hard ,be patient and the most important is study hard to acquired proper skills that may use in the future. Next first time is going to Tagaytay City; it’s a relaxing ambiance with cool weather. After that was the Enchanted Kingdom experience. The fun really never stops. Aside from bonding with my classmates and friend it’s a full package experience. The ride on Space shuttle and Rio Grande was all my first time and according to Christian if he will be given a chance he’ll go back there or shall I say we will if there’s a chance. On our last day, the Intramuros and UST experiences are also amazing. Intramuros being one of the most important historical place and unique events in the country happened there. While UST is also nice because of its place which is awesome. Aside from the cute faces of their students, they are also kind and hospitable and they entertained and answered all our questions in mind. I’m so blessed and thankful that I was able to join the tour. My deepest gratitude to the tour committee for their patience in asking for our balances and letting this to happened. There were about thirty-five people working out. The ages ranged from eighteen-year-old freshmen to fifty year old Hofstra alumni. The males dominated in population by about eighty percent. Many ethnic groups spread throughout the room. The weight room consists of barbells, abdominal, back, shoulders, chest and leg machines. There are also nautilus machines, chin up bars, and a weight scale. People use the weight room mainly for good health but also for nice looks and big egos. There is usually at least one supervisor making sure everyone maintains safety with the weights. The supervisor consistently made sure weights werent in the way so people wouldnt trip over them. All people that were working cooperated with the rules because the weight room was very clean. People seemed very courteous to others. For the most part, people were wearing sweatpants, tee shirts, and sneakers. The music consisted of a rap FM radio station, Hot 97. I guess that is the music that most people appreciate. The music kept alive and pumped. There were roughly two to four people working out in each section. I noticed a group of four Asian people bench pressing; the rest consisted of white and black people. My overall perspective of my night in the weight room was that people all seem to be having fun. People were dancing, singing, and smiling in between their exercises. It seems to me that people really take an interest in improving their health and body tone. I noticed that people really struggle to do their limit and above, just to increase their body size. Still Legal in 22  States While corporal punishment such as paddling, spanking and hitting students disappeared from private schools by the 1960s, according to an article published by NPR in December 2016,  it is still permitted in public schools in 22  states, which can be broken down into 7 states that simply dont prohibit it and 15 states that expressly permit it. Most leading professional associations oppose corporal punishment in all its forms.  Corporal punishment is not allowed in the military, mental institutions or prisons, either. I learned years ago about corporal punishment from a man who was an expert in the field. I co-founded a high school in Nassau, Bahamas in 1994. As deputy director of the school, one of the first issues I had to deal with was discipline. Dr. Elliston Rahming, the owner and director of the school, was a criminologist. He had very firm views about the subject: there would be no corporal punishment of any kind. We had to find better, more effective ways than beating to enforce discipline. In the Bahamas, beating children was, and still, is an accepted disciplinary method in the home and in the school. Our solution was to develop a Code of Discipline which basically penalized unacceptable behavior according to the severity of the infraction. Everything from dress code to drugs, weapons and sexual infractions was covered. Remediation and resolution, retraining and reprogramming were the goals. Yes, we did get to the point on two or three occasions where we actually did suspend and expel st udents. The biggest problem we faced was breaking the cycle of abuse. Most schools have found more enlightened and effective methods for dealing with disciplinary issues. Honor codes and clearly spelled out results for infractions combined with contract law give private schools an edge in dealing with discipline. Basically, if you do something seriously wrong, you will get suspended or expelled from school. You will have no recourse because you have no legal rights other than those in the contract which you signed with the school. Things Parents Can Do What can you do? Write the state education departments of the states which still permit corporal punishment. Let them know that you oppose its use. Organizations Opposed to Corporal Punishment in Schools The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry opposes the use of corporal punishment in schools and takes issue with laws in some states legalizing such corporal punishment and protecting adults who use it from prosecution for child abuse. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that corporal punishment in schools be abolished in all states by law and that alternative forms of student behavior management be used. Let us see what Hitler thought of the masses he moved and how he did the moving. The first principle from which he started was a value judgment: the masses are utterly contemptible. They are incapable of abstract thinking and uninterested in any fact outside the circle of their immediate experience. Their behavior is determined, not by knowledge and reason, but by feelings and unconscious drives. (Huxley, 1958, p.3) If Hitler looked at mankind today with his opinion be the same? Would he succeed at moving the masses to the deplorable deeds as he once succeeded in doing? The instinctive answer would be no, of course not; but, there exist today a constant bombardment of information, distractions, demands, and influences attacking us at the same time there still exist the same emotions and motivations that moved the masses of Hitler’s era. In the face of this barrage, how can mankind possibly keep its mind muscle when society is being pushed to mind mush? Armed with the proper intellectual tools, mankind’s mind muscle will remain strong. For about a century now, literature and films like The Hunger Games, Harry Potter series, Logan’s Run, Terminator, I Robot, and others include control of the masses or the rise of artificial intelligence.
